Sarah Lahbati’s mother, Esther Lahbati, made a rare statement about her daughter’s relationship with Kapamilya actor Richard Gutierrez.

In her social media comment, Esther said that she couldn’t comprehend why Richard was upset with Sarah despite his treatment of her.

It can be recalled that there were rumors circulated last November about Annabelle Rama’s alleged decision to put Richard and Sarah’s youngest child, Kai, to DNA testing.

Esther then reacted to the netizen who brought up the rumor, revealing that Richard was very strict regarding his wife.

According to Esther, Richard didn’t allow Sarah to go outside with any bodyguards.

She also said that the Gutierrez family’s suspicion about Kai would be proven false.

“Grabe!Bakit kaya galit sya kay Sarah? Eh hindi nga pinapayagan si Sarah na walang bodyguard ngayon na lang na yan nakakalabas kasama pa kami. Grabe! Sobrang seloso, tapos magpapa DNA? Baka mapahiya sila!” Esther said.

Richard and Sarah were facing separation rumors, but until now, the two have not yet confirmed the reports.

Sarah and Richard spent their Christmas separately, which fueled speculation that they had already called it quits.

There were also reports that the two were preparing for a custody battle, following Annabelle’s sighting at PDEA’s office.
