Hindi maitago ng mga Botswanian ang kanilang pagkadismaya sa ginawang paghawak ni Miss World 2013 Megan Young sa buhok ng kanilang contestant na si Lesego Chombo.

Ayon sa ilang mga taga Botswana ay tila ginamitan ng itim na mahika ni Megan si Lesego kaya tila nawala ito sa kanyang sarili sa gitna ng Question and Answer portion ng Miss World 2024.

Sa mga video na kumakalat sa social media ay makikita si Megan habang inaayos ang buhok ni Lesego matapos niyang mapansin na wala ito sa ayos.

Ngunit ilang mga Botswanian ang naniniwala na mayroong masamang balak si Megan kaya naman hinimok nila ang Filipina beauty queen na aminin ang kanyang ginawang pangkukulam sa kanilang manok.

“In my own opinion, that presenter wasn’t fixing Lesego’s hair. And there was nothing wrong with her hair. The presenter wanted to remove Lesego’s confidence and also show judges that it wasn’t her natural hair but a wig,” sabi ng isang netizen na taga Botswana.

“Today our Queen was restless tota…she could feel the negative vibes brought by the judges and that made her weaker inside though she confidently responded to the questions…. the Masons vs the kingdom of light…..” komento pa ng isa.

Sa isang pahayag naman ay humingi ng paumanhin si Megan at sinabi na wala naman siyang intensyon na masama kay Lesego.

Itinanggi niya rin na kinulam niya ang contestant.

“We have spoken privately last night at the hotel and I have apologized to Lesego in private. To those who witnessed the incident, I also want to apologize for any discomfort or confusion my actions may have caused. It was a thoughtless and disrespectful act, and I take full responsibility for it.” ani Megan.

“I assure you that it was not my intention to invade personal space or make anyone feel uncomfortable. I deeply regret my actions and will strive to be more mindful and respectful in the future,” dagdag pa niya.
