The group investigating the case of the slain Davao City-based model and businesswoman Yvonne Plaza Chua finally released the name of the suspects.
In a press conference, the Special Investigation Task Group named former Presidential Security Group commander and now Philippine Army’s 1001st Infantry Brigade head B/Gen. Jesus Durante was the main suspect in what happened to the model.
According to the group, they discovered that there’s a relationship between Durante and Chua and the general was allegedly badly treating the model.
It can be remembered that a post of Chua several months after her passing showed her bruised face, saying that a certain ‘Durante’ did it to her.
They’re trying to look if the motive of the suspect against Chua was because of ‘jealousy’.
“May mga kasama sa statement ng witness na may kasamang selos,” said Region XI Police chief B/Gen. Benjamib Silo.
Aside from Durante, several individuals were also named for their alleged involvement in what happened to the model.
They’re SSg Gilbert Plaza, CPL Adrian Cashero, PFC Delfin Sialsa, CPL Longakit, CPL Cabal and Noel Hapitan.
It can be recalled that Durante denied that he was involved in what happened to Chua whom he considered as a friend.
“Yvonne was a friend. My name is being dragged based on an FB post made last April 2022 wherein I allegedly hurt her. She later retracted the post and issued a statement that I did not in any way harmed her,” the general said.
Durante has yet to give a comment on the possible charges he was facing.
