President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos’ trip to Switzerland became full of controversy after some netizens questioned the number of people who went together with the chief executive.
Marcos traveled to the said country to attend the World Economic Forum together with other high public officials and businessmen.
However, some netizens asked why actress Dawn Zulueta became part of Marcos’ delegation during his Switzerland trip.
In a Facebook post, netizen Mare Junio posted a photo of Zulueta while wandering around Bally Davos luxury store.
Junio said that the World Economic Forum is not a tourist destination.
“It is a place for serious world leaders who want to inspire change. Although there are people who try to come here just for exposure, those who do usually are privately funded. So when I see government officials doing this, using government funding to come here just to be here, I think of my team who work night shifts to support their families paying taxes only for this?” Junio said.
Dawn is the wife of the special assistant to the president and businessman Antonio Lagdameo Jr.
However, some netizens also defended Zulueta saying that the actress could afford to travel privately to the said country.
“Not kakampinks dragging Dawn Zulueta dahil kasama sa Switzerland. Gurlll baka sampalin kayo ng pera ni Mrs. Lagmadeo na btw wife ng special assistant to the President? Unless you have proof na pera ng gobyerno ang ginamit, manahimik kayo at baka gusto nyo magaya kay Enchong Dee.” netizen @QMotherGothel stated.
“I am for Leni but please stop questioning bakit kasama si Dawn Zulueta dyan dahil kaya nya mag travel around the world using her own money.” netizen @iezegallevo.
I think these people need to be called out!😤I am for Leni but please stop questioning bakit kasama si Dawn Zulueta dyan dahil kaya nya mag travel around the world using her own money.! (Libre nya pa kayo🤭 And FYI Anton Lagdameo is the Special Assistant of PBBM…. pic.twitter.com/ojUgJXNTBq
