An ABS-CBN executive had enough of the criticisms being received by their series Darna.
Julia Anne R. Benitez who’s the current Business Unit Head of ABS-CBN corporation answered some of the criticisms that Darna received on social media.
In her statement, Benitez said that she was proud of the hardworking people behind Darna and she apologized to some perfectionist netizens who always criticized the series.
She even urged the critics not to watch Darna anymore if they’re not satisfied with the show.
“Yes, pinagmamalaki ko ang Darna. Pinaghirapan ng buong Team ang bawat ep na napapanood and I am very proud of my Team. Pasensya na, hindi kami perfect kagaya mo. 2023 na, sana maging happy ka. Kung puro pangit ang nakikita mo sa Darna, wag mo panoorin. Ganun kasimple.” said Benitez.

She also answered the netizens who accused them of not giving enough budget to the graphics arts team handling the CGI of the show.

Benitez then claimed that Darna is receiving good ratings on the internet.
“At isa pa nga pala, maganda ang ratings ng Darna, trending araw araw (salamat sa supporters), 2.2B views sa Tiktok, at napakataas again, napakataas ng views sa YT.” she said.

Some netizens reacted on Benitez’ tweets, saying that the executive should accept criticisms.
“This is the kind of mentality na sana mabago natin. Not because trending is okay na. I hope the producers of this show can accept constructive criticisms para maimprove ang show. “ netizen @oneofakind_0303 remarked.
It can be remembered that Darna has been receiving criticism from television watchers because of its storytelling and CGI.
