Renato Reyes, ‘honors’ Joma Sison: “The people will continue to fight, by all means necessary, until they are free.”

Bagong Alyansang Makabayan (Bayan) secretary-general Renato Reyes wrote a message to honor the Communist Party of the Philippines leader Joma Sison who reportedly passed away on December 17, 2022.

In a Facebook post, Reyes reminisced about the contribution made by Sison to the country.

“We honor the man who led the founding of the revolutionary party of the proletariat that continues to fight for national and social liberation in the Philippines,” said Reyes.

“His impact on Philippine society as well as on the global stage is far-reaching indeed,” he added

He even said that while the critics of Sison were celebrating now, they will find out that what the communist leader started will only continue.

“In the end, a revolution does not revolve around one man. The vultures will gloat today, but they will be ultimately frustrated because the seeds of resistance have already been planted and these will continue to grow wherever oppression and injustice exist.” he stated.

“The life of Jose Ma. Sison should lead us to take a hard look at the social ills that he fought against, and the pressing need for change. The cause of just peace can only be attained if the roots of the armed conflict are finally addressed. We know for a fact, that in the face of widespread repression and exploitation, the people will continue to fight, by all means necessary, until they are free.” he added.

CPP didn’t disclose the reason for the passing of Sison.

Meanwhile, his critics were happy saying that Sison blocked the peace in the country for decades.

“The greatest stumbling block of peace for the Philippines is gone; let us now give peace a chance,” the Department of National Defense said Saturday.
