Netizens praise Sharon Cuneta for singing with viral pianist Bong Infante during her visit at a mall

Netizens praised megastar Sharon Cuneta after her impromptu performance with trending pianist Vidalita “Lolo Bong” Infante during her visit to a mall in Makati last Sunday.

The video was recorded by netizen Albert Gerez who’s also a fan of Infante.

According to some mallgoers who personally watched the performance, Sharon didn’t hesitate to sing her original song “Ikaw” together with Infante.

The megastar recorded the said song in 1993 for a movie with Ariel Rivera and after five years, it became popular again after Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez made her own version of ‘Ikaw’.

Sharon’s husband former senator Kiko Pangilinan was also there and even gave a tip worth P1,000 to the 73-year-old pianist.

The megastar didn’t stop and even sang one of her most famous song “Kahit Maputi Na Ang Buhok ko.”

“Our beloved Tito Bong had an extraordinary experience this evening on what he thought was just a regular Sunday gig at PowerPlant Mall. While playing his usual set which included some well-loved Sharon Cuneta songs, who would suddenly come from out of the blue to surprise him but Ms. Sharon Cuneta herself!” according to the relatives of Lolo Bong.

“She quietly approached Tito Bong and started singing while he was playing “Ikaw” to the delight of the very excited crowd. She even sang a 2nd song which everybody knew the lyrics to, “Kahit Maputi Na Ang Buhok Ko.” they added.

The video received thousands of views online.

It can be remembered that Lolo Bong became trending on social media last year after losing his job temporarily because of the pandemic restrictions.

Because of that, he used social media to perform for his fans and to earn some tips via online transfers.

Fortunately, Lolo Bong is now allowed to continue his mall gigs, but he still continues to perform online when he had free time.

He said that he would play piano as long as he’s still living.

“The Lord gave this [talent] to me.” the pianist said.
