Issue between E-Sport Star H2WO and his mother sparks discussion on how some parents make their children as ‘investment’

The issue between the E-Sports team NextPlay member John Paul “H2WO” Salonga and his mother became one of the topics of this week that only rivaled the discussion about Vhong Navarro.

The mother of Salonga, Susana Campos Miranda posted on TikTok criticizing her son for allegedly not supporting her financial needs, and suspected that someone was ‘brainwashing’ his son not to follow her orders anymore.

Miranda refused to name the person that allegedly trying to ‘brainwash’ her son.

She also criticized her other children saying that they already forgot to become humble because of their achievements in life.

I hate you all Kokoy, Kikay, at ama niyong adik.

Some netizens quickly supported Miranda, saying that children should always support their mothers.

However, public opinion changed when Salonga posted his private conversation with his mother, repeatedly asking him for ‘allowance’.

“As much as possible ayoko sana gawing public to dahil usapang pamilya ito.

The screenshots showed that Salonga was giving monthly allowances to his mother, however, it seems that the money he sent was always not enough.

It also revealed how Miranda sold some of the items that her child gave to her to get more money.

Salonga also tried to help his mother to build a house, but when he noticed that he was pouring too much money, the e-sport player decided to get his own contractor that made Miranda angry.

“Huwag ka na magpadala [ng] tao dito. Patayin ko lang yan,” she said.

Salonga then discovered from his brother that his mother using all her money to gamble.

The said topic sparked a discussion on how some parents were trying to make their children an ‘investment’.

It’s already part of the Filipino culture that when a child already found work, they’re obligated to give part of their money to their parents, especially if they’re still living at the same house.

Ginagawang gatasan!” netizen Ace commented.

“This “AKO ANG NAGSILANG SAYO” is not your license to manipulate your sons/daughters. Not the other way around, yes your children can support you BUT they shouldn’t be obligated. You as a parent should be a role model. Nakakagigil yung ganito, i feel sad for H2WO.” netizen Jacky Stated.
