Kinumpirma ng Department of Health (DOH) na itinalaga nilang bagong undersecretary si retired PNP chief Camilo “Pikoy” Cascolan.

Nitong Oktubre 23, sinabi ng DOH na natanggap na ni Cascolan ang kanyang appointment papers.

Hindi naman malaman kung ano ang kanyang magiging trabaho sa DOH bilang undersecretary.

Nagpasalamat naman si Cascolan kay PBBM sa pagkakapili sa kanya sa nasabing posisyon.

Ayon sa kanya ay hindi naman niya kinakailangan na maging doktor para makapagtrabaho ng maayos sa DOH.

“First, thank you Pres. BBM for the trust. I’m not a doctor but one doesn’t need to be a doctor to be assigned in DOH. Administration and management will always be a part of every department in government and I believe I will be of big help in this area. What’s important is the government’s program is implemented with the directive of the OIC Sec. DOH,” aniya.

Hindi naman nagustuhan ng ilang netizens ang pagkakatalaga sa isang dating pulis para sa DOH.

Ilan sa mga pumalag ay ang Alliance of Health Workers (AHW) dahil sa diumano’y hindi ito pagpapakita ng respeto sa napakadaming health experts sa bansa.

“AHW believes that PBBM’s appointment of Cascolan is a clear manifestation of the President’s extreme lack of concern for the lives, health, safety and welfare of the health workers and the entire Filipino nation.” sabi ng grupo.
